But the real trouble with Goa is the way the tourism industry often exploits the tourists who come from remote parts of India and abroad and lack the local knowledge.
They rely on the tour guides, taxis and hotels/resorts for a fulfilling and safe experience.
But the owners of these trades often extort heavy prices even for meagre services. The biggest headache starts from the moment you enter Goa - the distance from Goa airport to holiday hotspots is the same as any area in Hyderabad to RGIA but the prices are almost double.
This unfair business does not have any rival and tourists demand taxi service apps like Ola/Uber to make it fair for all. However, even the government adamantly supports the taxi drivers' union who have asked for a ban of such apps in Goa.

This continues to make the situation worse for tourists who have to pay unprecedented prices for taxi fare. It ruins the overall experience when you are aware that you are being extorted in the name of basic services.
