In two separate incidents, a woman was stabbed 17 times by her lover, and in another, a man walked into a police station carrying his wife's severed head-just like in the Odela movie.
In the first case, a 33-year-old woman named Harini was found murdered in a hotel room in PoornaPrajna Layout.
She was stabbed to death by her alleged lover, 25-year-old techie Yashas. The crime took place on Friday night but was only discovered two days later.

Both Harini and Yashas lived in Kengeri, a western suburb of Bengaluru. According to the police, Harini had decided to end her relationship with Yashas.
She told him she could not continue, especially since the affair was affecting her personal life. Harini was a mother of two.

Unable to accept rejection, Yashas booked an OYO hotel room. There, he stabbed Harini 17 times in a fit of rage and jealousy.
The police say this was a planned act. He allegedly used the hotel room as the crime scene to avoid public attention.
The brutal murder has left the city stunned. DCP South Lokesh B. Jagalasar confirmed the details and said the accused acted out of blind fury after Harini distanced herself.
A case has been registered at Subramanyapura Police Station. Yashas has been arrested and is now in custody.
Just as the city was reeling from this crime, another horrifying case emerged. In Anekal, a 28-year-old man named Shankar allegedly beheaded his 26-year-old wife, Manasa.
In a chilling move, he carried her severed head to the Suryanagar police station and surrendered.
Shankar and Manasa had moved into a rented house in Heelalige village not long ago. On June 3, Shankar left for work, saying he would return the next morning.
But he came back that same night. What he allegedly found shattered him-his wife with another man.
A heated confrontation followed. Manasa reportedly moved out soon after, but the arguments continued.
Days later, Shankar, unable to cope with the situation, murdered her in cold blood. He then carried her head to the police station as proof and turned himself in.
Both cases have sent shockwaves across Bengaluru. Two women, both killed by men they once trusted.
Two brutal acts of violence that have reignited concerns about rising crimes against women in the city.
