Accused in AP liquor scam, YSRCP MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy's request to record the audio and video of his interrogation by SIT, has been struck down by the AP High Court.
However, the HC said that Mithun Reddy was worried about being slapped and usage of bad language during the interrogation, scheduled on April 19. Hence, it ordered the investigating officer that the interrogation must take place where there are CCTV cameras, for responsibility and setting an example for future.

The HC directed that Mithun Reddy can take two lawyers along with him. However, HC said only one lawyer will be allowed inside the interrogation space and will sit 10 feet apart.
The HC also made it clear that the lawyer must not interfere with the interrogation. The HC heard the arguments of petitioner's lawyer's arguments following which it issued the above mentioned guidelines.

On the other hand, advocate general representing SIT said no court had ordered for recordings before. They said recording depended on the discretion of the investigation officer. He said they didn't have a problem with a lawyer being present without interfering in the investigation.
After hearing both sides, the Court dismissed the recording plea by Mithun Reddy.
