India Under Gambhir: All Talk No Game?

Gautam Gambhir is usually regarded as a man with an alpha mindset. He looks very serious with his work and doesn't usually mess around with his regimen.

After winning a fairly comfortable IPL title with Kolkata, everyone expected his stint with team India would be remarkable. He took charge as the head coach of the Indian cricket team with extreme expectations on the back.

However, the stint thus far has been rather subdued and unsatisfactory. The opening T20 against Zimbabwe which was Gambhir's maiden match as the coach was lost.

The T20 series against Sri Lanka was comfortably won. But the ODI series is where things went south. The ultra-aggressive mindset that Gambhir strives on proved catastrophic for the side.

India Under Gambhir: Worry Or Happy?

India couldn't even change sub-250 targets in all three of the ODIs and this is despite the heroics of Rohit Sharma who is evidently the only player in the side with any intent and winning mindset.

The gameplay also wasn't compelling enough as India never looked like a side that had the fire in them to win the game. The middle order batting line up has been preposterous to say the least.

India has series' coming up against New Zealand and Australia coming up later in the year and these will decide if Gambhir can actually coach a packed Indian team and win against major sides.

India stuttering with the likes of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka is never a good start for an aggressive coach like Gambhir.
