Hyderabad is all set to host Toma Terra, India's first ever Tomatina Festival on 11 May 2025.
The Tomma Terra Festival, organized by Prism Outdoors at Experium Park, aims to put a desi twist on this Spanish tradition.
It's goal is to bring La Tomatina to Telangana without having to travel internationally, targeting local tourists who seek a break from routine.

The activities line-up goes beyond the tomato fight, and will be featuring flea market, food stalls, DJ performances and a "wacky fun zone" to ensure the participants are entertained throughout the day.
To address the wasteful image associated with the festival, which was the reason why La Tomatina inspired events were banned in India previously, Toma Terra promises to be eco-friendly.

The thousands of tomatoes used will be collected and converted into organic manure to be used at the Emperium Park's grounds.
India has had mixed responses to these events where previously a similar event in Patna in 2013 had to be canceled due to public backlash over food wastage.
Tomma Terra is diverting such criticism by calling it a responsible celebration, but the public response will determine the future for this festival.
