The other day, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired a meeting with the party's MPs to discuss the strategy to be adopted in the second leg of the Budget Session of the Parliament.
YSR Congress currently has three Lok Sabha MPs and seven Rajya Sabha MPs.
Borugadda's Conference Calls from Jail
Among various directions he gave, Jagan asked the MPs to fight for Ballot Papers voting in case of One Nation One Election.
It is clear that Jagan is still in a bubble thinking that the EVMs defeated him.
If Varma Is TDP's Issue, What About Nagababu?
Probably, he is still sitting in the same Dream Chair.
This attitude will make sure that there is no proper introspection into the defeat and no chance of corrective measures.
CBN Govt Orders to Take Back YCP Ex-MP's Land
Keeping that aside, the TDP candidates in the MLC elections won recently using Ballot Paper Voting.
Their majorities in these elections are more than what the TDP candidates got in the 2024 elections in the respective constituencies.
The Water Society Elections also happened using the Ballot Papers.
YSR Congress boycotted both the elections.
In case there is any merit in Jagan's arguments on EVMs, he should have contested in these elections and proved how EVMs are rigged in 2024.
He can say the Ruling Party will have an advantage. But even a tough fight would have sent a positive message.
For example, if we take the Graduates MLC elections, these two seats cover 67 Assembly Segments. The Godavari districts MLC Seat covers 34 Assembly Segments while Krishna and Guntur Seat covers 33 Seats.
In the four Districts combined, TDP and its allies polled 58% of the Votes in the Assembly elections and that is up now to 65% Vote Share. That is a mammoth 7% Vote Share increase.
So there is no rationale in the claims of EVMs defeated the YSR Congress.
If at all, YSR Congress MPs do protest in the Parliament house, they are just wasting precious time and resources.
Probably, Jagan wants Ballot Papers Voting, so that he can bring back the old days of Rigging, Booth Capturing, etc for which the Congress under YS Rajasekhara Reddy is famous in the 1990s.
The second leg of Parliament's Budget session will begin on February 13th and the house will discuss the budget that was tabled recently in the Parliament.
