Vasan Bala's Jigra has hit the theatres with mixed responses. It released on 11 October and shows Alia Bhatt as a brave sister who must fight to save her younger brother played by Vedang Raina.

Before its release Jigra came under dispute in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The film got a stay order that was later lifted to allow screening in the city.
The dispute started when a coaching centre owner who runs his enterprise by the name Jigra claimed that he has a copyright on it. The judges later absolved the makers of Jigra by clarifying that Jigra is distributed under M/s Dharma Productions hence there is no such infringement of copyright here.

Still, for a moment it seemed like the film will not be screened at Jodhpur and this was really shocking for the fans in the city. Dharma Productions found the loophole in the entire case and used it to their advantage smartly.
In a box office battle between Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, fans seem confused about which should be the winner. Both the films have their pros and cons and nothing concrete can be stated yet.
