The BJP has named Lankala Deepak Reddy as its candidate for the Jubilee Hills by-election. After days of speculation, the party's high command made the announcement on Wednesday.
Reports suggested that Dr Keerthi Reddy and V Padma were also being considered. But the saffron party chose Deepak Reddy, who currently serves as the BJP Hyderabad Central District President.

Deepak Reddy had earlier contested from Jubilee Hills in 2023 but lost to BRS leader Maganti Gopinath. The by-election was announced following Gopinath's sudden demise, which left the seat vacant.
Voting for the Jubilee Hills bypoll will take place on November 11, and counting is scheduled for November 14.
The BJP is treating this contest as a matter of prestige since Jubilee Hills falls under Union Minister Kishan Reddy's Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency. Deepak Reddy, known to be a close aide of Kishan Reddy, reportedly received his support during the candidate selection process.
