From glamorous lead roles to women-centric projects, she has built a diverse filmography. However, after her marriage during the COVID-19 pandemic and the birth of her child, her acting career naturally slowed down.

Though Kajal had hoped to maintain her momentum post-marriage with films like Satyabhama, they unfortunately flopped. Major lead roles have become rare.

These days, she is mostly being offered supporting characters or smaller roles in big-budget films, such as her recent appearance in Salman Khan's Sikandar. Kajal looked good in the film, though both her role and the overall project were poorly received.

While she may no longer be at her peak popularity, her fan base remains strong enough to secure her meaningful roles in large-scale projects.

Recently, Kajal was cast as Parvati Devi in Kannappa, a mythological film starring and produced by Manchu Vishnu.

Interestingly, the role was first offered to Kangana Ranaut, but after Kangana's recent election win, she opted out. Kajal stepped in, and although her role is brief, it plays a key part in the story.

Kajal also revealed during promotions that she's exploring direction and is currently working on a few scripts. While enjoying her journey as a mother, she remains passionate about cinema.

She is open to character roles now and no longer insists on being the lead - proving that she's evolving gracefully and is ready for a promising second innings.
