Suriya's pan-Indian movie Kanguva, which was released in theatres with huge expectations on November 14th, ended up as an ultra disaster due to the negative responses from audiences.

In this scenario, now, as per the strong buzz, the Kanguva team is planning to release the movie on the Amazon Prime OTT platform on December 13th.

Initially, the Kanguva team announced that the movie would be released on OTT platforms with an 8-week OTT window to ensure the screening of the movie in North Indian Multiplexes.

The North Indian Multiplexes chains, which were PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, allow the movie to release on their screens only if the movie releases on OTT with an 8-week window.

However due to the negative responses from the audiences, Kanguva ended up as a disaster, and the audiences were not showing interest in watching the movie in theatres, and also in many places Kanguva was removed from theatres.

So, as per speculations, the Kanguva team was planning to release the movie by reducing the OTT window from 8 weeks to 4 weeks on December 13th.

Also, there was a chance for the Kanguva movie to be released only in 4 South Indian languages on December 13th, and later, after another 4 weeks, the Hindi version may get released due to the North Indian multiplexes terms.
