Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, "Kannappa" has Vishnu Manchu in the lead and cameos from biggies like Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal.

The film is about a warrior who starts as an atheist and becomes a devotee of Lord Shiva and eventually makes the ultimate sacrifice in devotion.

Early reviews from social media influencers and trade analysts like Sumit Kadel and Rohit Jaiswal suggest that the climax is the strongest part of the film and many are getting emotionally overwhelmed-especially the Shiva devotees.

The last 30 to 40 minutes are being compared to "Kantara" and some are calling it a spiritual experience rather than a movie.

Prabhas's cameo is a major talking point. Unlike what some might expect from a special appearance, his role as the hermit Rudra is substantial with good amount of screen time-reportedly around 15-20 minutes though some sources say it could be even more especially in the second half.
