Some media houses are reporting that former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao may attend the upcoming Assembly session. The Winter Session is scheduled to begin on the 29th of this month.
According to BRS party sources, KCR is preparing to highlight what he claims are the government's failures.
Recently, KCR spoke to the media and stated that the time he gave the government is over. He questioned the handling of the Ranga Reddy - Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project and warned that he would no longer spare the Congress and BJP. These comments have increased curiosity about his Assembly presence.
If KCR actually attends the session, it could be a well-timed political move. For months, the ruling party has been challenging him to enter the Assembly and raise issues directly. BRS claims Revanth Reddy avoids point to point responses to their questions and instead uses criticism and counter challenges.
If KCR raises the same issues inside the Assembly, the government will be compelled to respond officially. Any attempt to sidestep questions may reflect poorly on the ruling party and could expose weaknesses. This situation may benefit KCR politically.
After the BRS lost the 2023 Assembly elections, KCR has mostly remained in the Erravelli farmhouse. He attended the Assembly only once since then and did not speak. Reports suggest it was done only to avoid disqualification. There are also rumours about his health, but nothing is confirmed. His rare public appearances show him looking frail, which has led to speculation.
Under KTR's leadership, the BRS has performed poorly in elections held after 2023. The Jubilee Hills by-election defeat demoralised the party. A slight improvement in Panchayat Elections has brought a small boost in confidence. Supporters believe KCR's return could provide motivation.
If the reports are true, attending the Assembly could help rebuild momentum for BRS. However, KCR should be prepared for mocking, criticism, and aggressive exchanges. At the same time, such reactions could also generate sympathy for him. The session may play a key role in shaping Telangana's political atmosphere going forward.
