Reports claim the district might be renamed as Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Krishna District or simply Vangaveeti District. Since both Kamma and Kapu communities are strong in Krishna district, the issue has gained political and social sensitivity.
The previous government already named a district after NTR, and supporters argue that Ranga also deserves similar recognition for community balance. However, many feel Krishna and Godavari rivers hold deep emotional and cultural value, and Krishna district has been part of people's identity for decades.
Changing the name could trigger unrest and create unnecessary political and social issues. People believe the government must act wisely and curb these rumors before they grow further. Otherwise, it may cause disappointment to the Kapu community if the proposal does not go through.
