YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and K Taraka Ramarao attended a private event in Bengaluru recently. Their photos and videos went viral within hours.
Supporters of both parties enjoyed the moment, while TDP supporters reacted sharply and called them losers.
Everyone remembers the equations from 2019, when BRS and YSR Congress worked together against Chandrababu Naidu. The then KCR Government openly supported Jagan in the Andhra Pradesh elections. Despite that partnership, both parties later lost their own battles.
Nearly half a day after the event, KTR posted the photos on Twitter. He wrote, "Was great meeting @ysjagan Anna at a private event in Bengaluru." Many wondered what message he wanted to send with that post.
It looks like KTR wanted to tease the TDP support base. He shares a complicated relationship with TDP supporters. He dislikes them deeply, yet before every election, he tries to win their approval by making statements aimed at that group.
He starts by saying TDP is irrelevant in Telangana, then switches to praising them. After the election, he drops the act and returns to provoking them. His latest tweet appears linked to the recent Jubilee Hills by-election and the online mood around it.
Even so, the friendship between BRS and YSR Congress does not hold much weight today. Even if BRS wins in 2028 and backs YSR Congress in 2029, the situation is different. In 2019, the alliance mattered because Naidu was also fighting the BJP-led Centre.
This time, Naidu is part of the NDA, which gives him a strong shield. So the photos and the tweet feel more like a Sunday diversion for social media users rather than a serious political signal.
