YSRCP is facing another major setback after its recent electoral defeat. Reports of internal conflicts among party leaders and cadre have existed for some time.
Now, these disputes have surfaced openly and triggered serious political debate.
In Sattenapalli, several party leaders, public representatives and office bearers have resigned one after another. The crisis largely revolves around Gajjala Sudheer Bhargav Reddy. Leaders allege he sidelined the group led by senior YSRCP leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu.
Ambati Rambabu is known to have a strong influence in Sattenapalli. However, local leaders claim his group has been completely ignored. They allege decisions are taken without consultation and local cadre is being neglected.
There are also complaints that only leaders from a particular community are being encouraged. Many allege Gajjala Sudheer Bhargav Reddy is running the party on his own terms. This has reportedly led to poor coordination across mandal and village levels.
Opposition to his leadership style has intensified among grassroots workers. Several mandal and village-level leaders are openly protesting these developments. The growing unrest has weakened the party structure in the region.
Meanwhile, Sattenapalli ZPTC member Nageswaramma has resigned from her post. This has caused major embarrassment for the party leadership. The exit of state-level leaders has further highlighted the leadership crisis.
YSRCP SC cell state joint secretary Chilaka Jaipal has also resigned, dealing another blow. Several MPTC leaders have followed the same path. Most of them hold Gajjala Sudheer Bhargav Reddy responsible for the situation.
Political analysts believe these resignations could hurt YSRCP in future elections. The developments suggest weakening organisational control. There is increasing talk that party chief Jagan is gradually losing grip over the party.
