Electronics and computer hardware manufacturing company Acer India has announced one paid leave for its women employees during their menstrual cycle.
It has followed in the footsteps of engineering company L&T.
The idea is to focus on women's health and well-being. It would not impact the other leaves for women, said Acer India. The company made the announcement under the theme Matruka.

However, the facility can be availed by women employees who work in the Matru wing of L&T. It is not applicable to those in financial and technological wings.

It is known that Zomato and Swiggy have already made similar announcements. Odisha, Sikkim, Kerala and Bihar have already drafted policies regarding menstrual leaves.
The Supreme Court had given directives to the government to bring out a policy regarding women's menstrual leave. While it's a good move, the Apex Court said that women should not miss out on official projects due to this.
