After years away from Indian cinema, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is back. Director SS Rajamouli unveiled Priyanks Chopra's first look from his ambitious global epic as of now titled Globetrotter.
The poster, featuring Priyanka as Mandakini, went viral within minutes, sparking debate among fans and film lovers.
Rajamouli shared the poster on his social media handle with a caption: "The woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage. Welcome back, Desi Girl! Can't wait for the world to witness your myriad shades of Mandakini."
In the image, Priyanka looks fierce yet graceful. She is draped in a bright yellow saree, holding a gun, and staring ahead with unflinching intensity. The blend of traditional attire, sex appeal, and deadly purpose immediately stands out, suggesting that Mandakini is a woman with secrets, strength, and a storm inside her.
Sharing the poster on her own page, Priyanka wrote: "She's more than what meets the eyeโฆ say hello to Mandakini."
The post instantly fueled speculation about her role. For now, the makers are keeping everything tightly under wraps. Whether Mandakini's story is tied to Mahesh Babu or Prithviraj Sukumaran might be revealed during the grand Globetrotter title event on November 15.
The character names, Kumbha and Mandakini, have already hinted that both characters will carry mythological undertones. Rajamouli might once again be blending elements of ancient Indian lore with a global, modern narrative.
Earlier, Prithviraj's first look as the villain Kumbha got a lot of flak and sparked memes across social media. However, Priyanka's look poster looks better. However, it can be felt that the posters so far do not have the Rajamouli wow factor. They lack the spectacle impact. But most agree that the scale and intrigue of the project make it impossible to judge too soon. After all, Rajamouli is not known for revealing all his cards upfront. So, the hype is still intact.
Now, all eyes are on Mahesh Babu's poster, which is expected to drop next. Fans are hoping it will finally deliver that jaw-dropping moment associated with Rajamouli films.
