As 2025 draws to a close and the New Year approaches, Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha reflected on her political journey in an interaction with a media channel.
She spoke about her past choices, struggles, and key moments that shaped her path.
Kavitha recalled that her brother KTR returned from the US and joined TRS directly. She said she launched Telangana Jagruthi in 2006 and fought independently during the Telangana movement, even before holding any formal political position.
She said that after TRS, now BRS, came to power, the attitude of some party members changed. Kavitha told the anchor that she sensed early attempts to sideline her, including pressure that eventually led to her being asked to leave the party.
Kavitha became emotional while recalling the phone tapping episode. She said one of her staff received summons from the SIT, after which she learned that her phone, her husband's phone, and staff phones were tapped.
Kavitha resigned from BRS on September 3, 2025, following her suspension. Since then, she has focused on Telangana Jagruthi activities and undertook a padayatra named janam baata across the state.
She also made it clear that she harbours ambitions of becoming the Chief Minister of Telangana in the future. Kavitha said her political journey is far from over and her fight will continue through people-centric movements.
