Nara Bhuvaneshwari completed a three-day tour of Kuppam, Chandrababu Naidu's long-time constituency. She has been active in public life ever since Naidu's arrest in 2023. Her regular visits once again triggered talk about whether she plans to enter politics.
In 2023, many claimed that Naidu was on shaky ground in Kuppam and might shift to another constituency, leaving Kuppam to Bhuvaneshwari. That never happened. Naidu went on to win Kuppam for the eighth straight time.
He secured a majority of 48,006 votes, which was 18,000 higher than his 2019 margin. Despite that strong win, fresh speculation about Bhuvaneshwari contesting from Kuppam has surfaced again, mainly pushed by the Blue Media.
Between 2019 and 2024, YSR Congress tried hard to unseat Naidu in Kuppam. Peddireddy was given full control of the district and even managed to win local elections using muscle and money. Blue Media then built a narrative that Naidu was losing ground.
That created some concern for Naidu and made him increase his visits to Kuppam. Sometimes he visited personally, and sometimes he sent Bhuvaneshwari. These frequent visits, along with building a home there, only added to the earlier speculation.
Even after the 2024 victory, both Naidu and Bhuvaneshwari remain active in Kuppam and are not stepping back. Many thought she would move away from politics after TDP returned to power, but she continues to stay visible.
At present, the political climate in Kuppam and in the state gives no solid reason to expect Bhuvaneshwari's political debut. The speculation seems unnecessary for now.
