Ajith Kumar's upcoming film Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, is all set for a theatrical release on April 10, 2025. The film's runtime is reportedly two hours and 18 minutes, which strikes a perfect balance-neither too lengthy nor too short.
Initially planned for a Pongal release on January 10, Good Bad Ugly was pushed to April after Ajith's other film, Vidaamuyarchi, occupied the slot.
L2 Empuraan Turns Headache for Netflix
While OTT platforms are struggling with budget constraints and reportedly asking some superstar films to delay their digital release to next year, Ajith Kumar's films seem to be an exception. Despite Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly releasing just two months apart, Netflix has secured both for hefty prices.
This move stands out, especially considering Ajith hasn't delivered a major hit in years. Vidaamuyarchi itself did not set any records at the box office or for Netflix in terms of viewership, yet the platform has gone ahead and acquired Good Bad Ugly as well.

While other star films are being held back due to financial concerns, Netflix's confidence in Ajith's market value is surprising.
The OTT giant appears to have strong faith in Ajith's market potential, buying two of his films in a short span. Netflix has reportedly paid 90-95 crores for Good Bad Ugly. Whether this gamble will pay off or not remains to be seen.
