Airport food has long been criticized for being overpriced, often making basic meals unaffordable for many passengers. The Udaan Yatri Café directly addresses this issue, ensuring that travellers from different economic backgrounds can eat comfortably while waiting for their flights.
The initiative is not only practical but also deeply symbolic of the scheme's broader goal-making every aspect of air travel, from tickets to terminal experiences, affordable and inclusive.
The café is now operational at four major airports: Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and most recently, Pune. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, inaugurated the Pune outlet and announced that the model has already received a positive response from passengers across these cities. With a simple self-service format and easy-to-locate counters, the café has quickly become popular among frequent flyers, families, and solo travellers alike.

More than 1.5 crore Indians have travelled under the Udaan scheme over the past two and a half years. The addition of these cafés brings the spirit of the scheme full circle-making not just flights but the entire airport experience more humane and accessible.
The Udaan Yatri Café is a rare example of meaningful public service: a clean, affordable, and thoughtful space that welcomes every traveller with both warmth and value.
