Ram Charan's most anticipated pan-Indian movie, Game Changer, directed by Shankar, is gearing up for a worldwide grand theatrical release on January 10th as a Pongal special.
Yesterday, the Vidaamuyarchi team officially announced that the movie is opting out of the Pongal race and getting postponed. Following this, every trade analyst predicted that it would be a spectacular run for Game Changer in Tamil Nadu, as Bala's Vanangaan is the only notable contender.
Fake Director: More Confusion for Game Changer
However, after Vidaamuyarchi's postponement, Jayam Ravi's Kadhalikka Neramillai team is now planning to release their movie on Pongal. On the other hand, Sasikumar's Freedom movie team has also announced that their movie will be released during the Pongal weekend.
Even though these are small- to medium-budget movies, they may pose a headache for Game Changer in terms of screen distribution in Tamil Nadu. Despite being directed by Shankar, Game Changer is not an original Tamil film, as only the Tamil-dubbed version will be released in Tamil Nadu.
Shankar's Next After Game Changer: Biggest Film?
Additionally, there is a strong buzz that Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 team is also aiming for a Pongal release following Vidaamuyarchi's postponement.
Other than the above-mentioned movies, Malayalam actor Shane Nigam's Madraskaaran, Mirchi Siva's Sumo, Kishen Das's Tharunam, and Sibi Sathyaraj's Ten Hours were some of the other Tamil movies releasing for this Pongal.
Shameful: Many Films Lost Golden Date Due to One
Another matter of concern for Game Changer is that if Jayam Ravi's Kadhalikka Neramillai releases on Pongal, it will be distributed by Red Giant Movies, one of Kollywood's strongest distribution houses.
Let us see which movie from the mentioned list will make a surprise entry into the Pongal race or if any new medium-budget movies join the list to create more headaches for Game Changer in Tamil Nadu.
