Border 2 is gearing up for its Republic Day release in 2026. Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta are planning for it to be the biggest war film of India.

It is a star studded and big budgeted project that is trying to bring back the patriotic vibe of Border that was released in 1997.

The next gen soldiers in this sequel will be played by stars like Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh. It will also reprise the evergreen hero of the franchise - Sunny Deol. Anurag Singh's direction will play a big role in carrying the project to its expected blockbuster success. But the question remains, will it live upto the reputation of the first film in the franchise?

Just as Gadar 2 brought back the classic cross-border romantic vibe of Gadar. In spite of being an average film it gained superhit success in theatres because of this very strategy.

Still, relying solely on nostalgia is not a wise strategy for the makers. They must keep in mind that audiences' expectations with the time have increased. Now fans expect a cinematic experience with sensible storytelling. If the film fails to keep up with that, it might end up in a flop show.
