Not Just Assembly, YSRCP Lost Interest In Council Too? The YSR Congress seems disinterested in raising public issues, both in the Assembly and the Council.
The party already boycotted the Assembly demanding Opposition Leader status for Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Even in the Council, where YSR Congress holds the majority, proceedings were disrupted. The party moved an adjournment resolution on medical colleges, but the chairman refused. Members staged a strong protest against privatization and surrounded the podium, stalling the session.
Despite multiple adjournments, the house did not return to order. Chairman Moshen Raju adjourned the council till Monday. Interestingly, both government and opposition leaders had already agreed to hold a short discussion on medical colleges in the Business Advisory Meeting.
Still, YSR Congress continued stalling proceedings. Moshen Raju, though appointed by YSR Congress earlier, criticised the party's stance. He assured repeatedly that the discussion would be taken up, but the members refused to cooperate and kept protesting.
The party's actions suggest little interest in participating meaningfully in the session. With constant disruptions, crores of public money are going to waste, leaving citizens questioning YSR Congress's seriousness on governance and public welfare.
