Like Pathaan and Jawan and Gadar 2, Singham Again had all the markings of a ₹500 crore film. Not for nothing was Rohit Shetty at the helm with Ajay Devgn returning to play that iconic role.

Salivating expectations can't have been too far behind. It didn't quite reach the goal, though, and also disappointed both the critics and the viewers.

Singham Again had a good opening at ₹43.7 crore, but it was unable to maintain the momentum. By the end of 15 days, it could bring in ₹224 crore at home and ₹379 crore abroad, far short of the ₹500 crore many had expected.

Singham was dead and dull, also uninspired performance by Ajay Devgn, who was depressingly much less passionate as fans had expected.

Audiences have even been more displeased with the "Aata Majhi Satakli" dialogue missing for all and sundry. Besides, the mythical element chosen by Rohit Shetty squandered the core action-packed value of this franchise.

The large cast, which featured numerous celebrities, detracted from Singham's pivotal place in the film.

Shetty had given up character development for spectacle and was thus rewarded with a loss of any emotional depth those movies held that made the earlier ones so strong. The audience connection was utterly downgraded with this new focus.

As the aggressiveness of Singham and its lines were the two missing elements of the movie, it could not collect the target of ₹500 crore for the second time also and depicts how even minor creative mistakes could influence success in a major way.
