The footage, taken by 36-year-old Rushi Bhatt, shows sounds resembling gunfire in the background and people running across a scenic meadow-some falling to the ground amid the chaos.

Bhatt, a resident of Paldi and an event and wedding planner by profession, was holidaying in Kashmir with his wife Bhakti (35) and son Preet (11). The family had planned a trip from April 16 to 27 but cut it short after witnessing the attack that claimed 26 lives.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Bhatt said he initially thought the commotion was unrelated to any danger. "Only after seeing people fall and hearing continuous gunfire did I realise it was a terrorist attack," he recalled.

As the ride neared its end, Bhatt leapt off early and reunited with his panicked family. His wife informed him that the attackers had asked victims about their religion before opening fire.

The family took cover, crouching on the ground between bursts of firing, and later fled as Army personnel arrived on the scene. Bhatt reviewed the video on April 23 and shared it with a defence officer in Ahmedabad, who permitted him to release it to the media after verifying the footage.

Interestingly, in the video, the zipline operator can be heard saying "Allah hu Akbar" upon hearing the gunshots, and he still allowed Bhatt to zipline into what would soon become the line of fire.

Many are now speculating whether the operator was aware of the attack beforehand and whether this reflects deeper local support for such extremist actions.

Despite the incident, no security agency has yet recorded Bhatt's statement. The family returned to Ahmedabad a day after the attack.
