Just days after Telangana CM Revanth Reddy criticised the use of the title 'jaati pita' for KCR, Prof Kodandaram has sparked fresh controversy.
He stated that he would never approve of KCR being called 'jaati pita'. His remarks have reignited political debate.
Prof Kodandaram accused BRS of exploiting public sentiment for political gain. He alleged that KCR did not respect all those who fought for Telangana. He said using Telangana identity for personal benefit was wrong.
He further stated that the title 'jaati pita' must come from the people. According to him, it cannot be assigned by a few individuals. His comments were aimed at what he described as deliberate political branding.
Earlier, Revanth Reddy had made similar remarks in Miryalguda. He said those who intrude into people's privacy cannot be called 'jaati pita'. Revanth Reddy also said Prof Jaishankar was the true 'jaati pita' of Telangana and credited Sonia Gandhi for granting statehood.
BRS leader Harish Rao hit back at Revanth Reddy. He questioned whether Revanth understood the meaning of 'jaati pita'. Harish Rao claimed Revanth Reddy was not known for participating in the Telangana movement.
With leaders from both sides trading sharp remarks, the political atmosphere in Telangana has heated up. Analysts say the exchange has intensified ahead of the upcoming municipal polls. The issue continues to dominate political discourse in the state.
