In reality, there have been several reports about additional footage being added to the film, and this news has been circulation since Christmas. However, even the New Year is done and dusted and the makers have decided now is the time to add the footage.
The theatrical run of the Allu Arjun and Sukumar film is nearly done and dusted. At this point, enforcing the idea of adding additional footage with no viable occasion to pull the audience to the theatres is perhaps uncalled for.

The better option here could have been to add this footage in the final copy of the OTT version, which could have further helped the cause for Netflix.
