Following the terrible failure of Coolie, Rajinikanth is all set to return with his next release, which is his most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and it is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th.
With only a few days left until the release, the makers of Jailer 2 have started promoting the film by organizing promotional events. This time, instead of the usual pre release audio launch event, the makers organized a special private interview with the cast and crew.
During the event, Rajinikanth confirmed in his speech that he was the first to ask Nelson Dilipkumar to make a sequel to Jailer and his comments have now gone viral.
Rajinikanth stated that once Jailer was released, Nelson Dilipkumar was in huge demand, with many top stars and production houses across India queuing up with massive remuneration offers to collaborate with him.
Reportedly, during that time, Rajinikanth asked Nelson Dilipkumar to make a sequel to Jailer, but Nelson initially neglected it, suggesting that they had already extracted the maximum potential from the character.
However, Rajinikanth claimed that Nelson himself requested a meeting a month later and told him that he felt making Jailer 2 was a good idea and that they should work towards it.
He also mentioned that once the project was locked, Nelson took considerable time to shape the script for the sequel, postponing his Telugu commitments while Rajinikanth completed Lal Salaam, Vettaiyan and Coolie.
In response to these comments, many people on social media are commenting that it seems Rajinikanth was the one who forced Nelson to start the sequel immediately.
Therefore, they feel that if Jailer 2 ends up as a disappointment, Nelson Dilipkumar could escape the trolls, as they suggest Rajinikanth was the main man behind Jailer 2.
Nevertheless, Jailer 2 carries massive expectations among the audience and it remains to be seen whether it satisfies them and emerges as a huge blockbuster upon its release on October 15th.
