Former Minister and YCP leader Perni Nani was in the news recently for the alleged Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) rice scam. Now, a case has been filed against him regarding the same issue.
The case has been filed at Machilipatnam Police Station. Nani went absconding after the case was registered against him. The police are expected to arrest him soon. Allegedly, all illegal transactions in this scam were conducted under Nani's supervision.

The police have already arrested four individuals accused of this case, and they have been sent to a 12-day remand. Perni Nani's wife, Jayasudha, was named as A1 in the case. She obtained anticipatory bail from the court.
The arrested individuals are Nani's godown manager Manas Teja, Civil Supplies Department Assistant Manager Kotireddy, rice mill owner Borra Anjaneyulu, and lorry driver Botla Mangaraju.

During YCP's regime, Nani built the godown under his wife's name and rented it to the Civil Supplies Department. Recently, officials inspected the godown and found irregularities in the stored ration rice. It was revealed that huge amounts of PDS rice were missing and had been illegally sold.
The police discovered that around Rs. 25-30 lakh worth of illegal transactions occurred between the bank accounts of the godown manager, Manas Teja, and Civil Supplies Department Assistant Manager, Kotireddy.

Upon investigating these illegal transactions, the police concluded that everything happened under the supervision of Nani and his wife.
