Union Jal Shakti Ministry arranged the meeting of both the Telugu CMs over the Godavari-Banakacharla Project.

The Telangana government has made it clear that there is no need to discuss the issue of Banakacharla in tomorrow's meeting, which was supposed to be chaired by Union Minister CR Patil.

The letter mentioned that Banakacharla does not have any permissions and that there is a violation of laws and tribunal judgments.

BRS Leaders Must Follow Me: Kavitha

It stated that it is inappropriate to discuss the Godavari-Banakacharla link project. It said that such actions will erode trust in the central government regulatory agencies.

BRS is trying to corner Revanth Reddy using this project.

How Kavitha Can Be Andhra People's Sister?

They are saying that CM Revanth Reddy, being Chandrababu's Agent, is acting against the interests of Telangana and is helping Chandrababu Naidu in this project.

At this juncture, discussing the project with Chandrababu Naidu will send the wrong signals, and Revanth Reddy is worried.

"TDP has numbers to dictate things in the Center. Suppose Naidu gets permissions for Banakacharla by hook or crook after this meeting. In that case, the Opposition will get a chance to point fingers at Revanth Reddy, and it is totally unnecessary at this point," a Congress insider said.

BRS is trying to invoke the sentiment using Chandrababu Naidu. They are obviously into using Chandrababu and Revanth Reddy's past relationship for that.

So there is a chance that Revanth Reddy will skip the meeting totally.

Originally, the meeting was scheduled to be held on the 11th of this month, and the Chief Ministers were requested to make an appointment, but due to a lack of positive response, it was postponed to the 16th.

It is learnt that two Chief Ministers have initially agreed to attend on this date.

The letter was intelligently sent a day before the meeting, so that there is no time to negotiate about the agenda, and so, it is likely to be postponed for now.

Revanth Reddy also added a big agenda from the Telangana side in the letter. So, the meeting is unlikely to happen until there is a consensus over the agenda.

Meanwhile, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is already in the National Capital and will be meeting a few Ministers today and tomorrow.
