BRS leader and ex minister Harish Rao has once again questioned the commitment of Revanth Reddy regarding Banakacharla. Harish Rao alleged that the works on Banakacharla started only after Revanth Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy met AP CM Chandrababu.
On July 6, 2024, Revanth Reddy met Chandrababu at Praja Bhavan and gave away the water rights of Telangana people, alleged Harish Rao.
On September 13, 2024, Uttam Kumar Reddy went to Vijayawada along with his wife, met Chandrababu and ate bajjis, said the BRS leader.

In November, Chandrababu wrote a letter to Nirmala Seetaraman regarding Banakacharla. He wrote another letter in December, 2024 asking for Rs 80,000 crore for Godavari-Banakacharla project.
Despite all this, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has kept quiet, alleged Harish Rao. Both Revanth and Uttam Kumar Reddy gave a green signal for the project, said Harish Rao.
