Getting into detail, CM Revanth Reddy visited Vemulawada Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple on November 20. He was accompanied by a few ministers and government officials.

Apart from having darshan of the almighty, Revanth Reddy also participated in a huge public gathering in the temple town. Reportedly, the popular hospitality chain Taj Group came down to the town to serve food to the CM and other dignitaries on that day.

As per the sources, Taj Group's staff served food to VIPs at the Devasthanam Board chairman's office on that day.

Taj Group stated that both breakfast and lunch were served to around 100 members on that day and sent the bill totalling Rs. 32 lakhs to Devasthanam's Executive Officer.

Of that 32 lakhs, Rs. 17 lakhs was the food bill, while Rs. 15 lakhs was for transportation, waiter charges, and the decoration made during food catering. On average, each VIP's food cost came to Rs. 32,000, as per this report.

Reports claimed that silk clothes (pattu panchalu) worth Rs. 10,000 each were presented to the VIPs by the temple board on that day. Also, from food utensils to the furniture, everything new was brought in during Revanth's visit. Apparently, the temple board spent around Rs. 1.7 crore for the arrangements made within temple premises.

It was stated that one government official told the Taj Group that the 32 lakh bill would be paid by the temple board and made them send the bill to the temple's EO. Shocked by this bill, the EO has apparently refused to pay it, but the concerned official pressured him to do so. As a result, it is now heard that the issue has reached the district collector's office.

Meanwhile, opposition parties and a section of people on social media are slamming Congress for spending so much money on luxuries during a temple visit. It has to be seen how Revanth and Co. respond to these allegations.
