The reason for his arrest dates back to 2018 cheque bounce issue.

The court also ordered that Ram Gopal Varma has to give Rs 3.7 lakh to the opposite party. If he fails to do so, he will have to face jail for another three months, the court said.
In 2018, a man named Mahesh Chandra filed a complaint against Ram Gopal Varma in cheque bounce matter.
