However, on Prabhas' birthday, some of the biggest media outlets and trade analysts announced that Salaar 2 started rolling to mark the occasion.
Fans were shocked as the production house did not make an official announcement.

The real news is that the shoot for Salaar 2 did take place but without Prashanth Neel and Prabhas. According to Bollywood media, shooting was limited to a few scenes with kids over a 4-5 day period.
Why these scenes were shot without the presence of even the director remains a big puzzle.

Currently, Prabhas is focused only on Maruthi's Raja Saab and Hanu Raghavapudi's Fauji.
Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel is fully occupied with NTR's film, a massive-budget project expected to remain in production for a year.
After NTR's film, Prashanth Neel plans to turn his attention to KGF: Chapter 3. Yash is also scheduled to complete Toxic and Ramayana before joining the sets of KGF: Chapter 3.
As of now, Salaar 2 is unlikely to happen for at least the next 3-4 years.
