Sankranthi BO: Can Sharwanand Win as the 7th Option?

Sharwanand's lineup has turned into a puzzle, and both his upcoming films are now stuck in an uncertain situation. His film Biker was initially planned for a December 6 release, just a day after Akhanda 2. However, UV Creations postponed it at the last minute due to technical reasons.

Now, new dates like December 12 or December 18 are being discussed.

What is making things worse is the lack of promotions. If the makers are aiming for a mid December release, promotions should have already started, but there has been complete silence. December 25 is also packed with releases, which means postponing further may only add competition rather than avoid it.

While Biker waits in limbo, Sharwanand's other film Nari Nari Naduma Murari appears to be going ahead confidently as a Sankranthi release. Although there were rumours of a delay because of heavy competition, producer Anil Sunkara indirectly confirmed the festival slot and reminded everyone that Sharwanand has pulled off surprise Sankranthi hits before with Express Raja and Shatamanam Bhavati even against strong opposition.

However, the Sankranthi 2025 race has already turned into a massive traffic jam. So far, six big films have locked the festival window. They are Prabhas' Raja Saab, Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, Naveen Polishetty's Anaganaga Oka Raju, Sivakarthikeyan's Parashakti, Vijay's Jananayakudu, and Ravi Teja's Bharta Mahashayulaku Vignapthi. With Sharwanand's Nari Nari Naduma Murari, the count now goes up to seven.

Many towns do not even have enough theatres to accommodate so many big releases, which means some films will either get limited shows or be forced to move. This also raises the question of whether there is enough audience interest to watch Sharwanand's film as the seventh option.

Trade analysts feel this kind of overcrowding could damage everyone's box office prospects. No matter how good the content is, a seven film clash is risky for Sharwanand. Biker needs clarity and promotions immediately, and Nari Nari Naduma Murari may get overshadowed in a festival rush.

With seven films releasing at the same time, there is also a concern about whether audiences will have enough time and money to watch them. The question remains whether a Sharwanand film can stand out among such big releases.
