SEVIS Crackdown: Top College Abandons F1 Students

At a time when F-1 students are losing visas and facing SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) terminations across the US, Cornell University has refused to offer them any help.

The university just rejected a resolution meant to protect immigrant students from visa revocations and ICE actions. This includes refusing to fund legal support or even offer "Know Your Rights" training.

Students are furious over this "betrayal." The co-authors of the resolution even called the university a coward for failing to stand up against an authoritarian regime.

According to reports, over 1,000 students have already had their visas revoked this year, and more than 4,000 SEVIS records have been shut down. At Cornell, some students have even been forced to self-deport-yet the administration stays mum on the matter.

"They're hiding the truth so they don't lose international enrollment. It's all about money," one critic said, reacting to the deafening silence from the Ivy League university.

Meanwhile, Cornell claims it's doing enough, but students feel the institution doesn't care about them. F-1 students, especially from countries like India, are terrified as the Trump administration continues its mass crackdown-terminating visas over minor mistakes made years ago.

While students and administrations from other Ivy League universities are speaking out against these inhumane deportations, Cornell seems to be taking an apolitical stance and conveniently choosing to look the other way.
