The accused, Arjun Chauhan, was attending the event with his uncle. During the feast, two other attendees, Anil Chauhan and Shubham Chauhan from Manjhariya, allegedly mocked Arjun by calling him "motu." (Fat) Though others at the event tried to calm the situation, Arjun was deeply hurt and became furious.
Later that night, Arjun, along with his friend Asif Khan, decided to confront the two men. They followed Anil and Shubham on the highway. After an initial failed attempt, they managed to overtake the victims' car near the Tenua toll plaza on the Jagdishpur-Kalesar bypass.
According to Arjun's confession, they stopped the car, pulled the two men out, and opened fire. Both victims were injured. Bystanders quickly rushed them to the district hospital. They were later referred to Gorakhpur Medical College for further treatment. Thankfully, both are now out of danger.

The police acted swiftly. On the basis of a complaint filed by Shubham's father, an FIR was registered at Khajni police station. Superintendent of Police (South) Jitendra Kumar confirmed that both Arjun and Asif were arrested on Friday. A countrymade pistol used in the shooting was recovered from them.
The case genuinely makes one wonder about the rising intolerance around us and how casual insults can quickly escalate into violent crimes. At the same time, one should regulate what is being said to the people around us.
