Rakesh Kumar, a government school teacher at Dhanga Madhya Vidyalaya, was abducted on his way to work and forcibly married to a woman named Ganesh Yadav's daughter.
The incident came to light in April 2025 when Rakesh failed to reach school. Concerned colleagues contacted his family, who soon realized he was missing.
His brother, Satish Kumar, filed a police complaint at Jamalpur police station. The investigation revealed that six individuals, including Ganesh Yadav, had abducted Rakesh with the intention of forcing him into marriage.
Images from the wedding ceremony later went viral on social media. The photos showed Rakesh being visibly distressed as he was made to wear a garland.
One picture captured the bride touching his feet while others forced him to bless her. His unhappiness was evident, sparking widespread discussion online.
Dhoni Deshdrohi? Kohli National Shame? Disgusting!
According to the family, the abductors threatened violence when they tried to intervene. The police have registered an FIR against six named individuals and are currently investigating the matter.
Pakadua Shaadi is a long-standing issue in parts of Bihar. In many cases, families of brides target men with government jobs or stable incomes, forcibly marrying them to their daughters. Although the practice has declined in recent years, incidents like this highlight its continued existence and the urgent need for stricter enforcement of the law.
