The SIT has filed a chargesheet against former minister and YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh in liquor case. The probe states that Addepalli Janardhan Rao ran the illegal business in Ibrahimpatnam with political backing and operated production units from Mulakalacheruvu.
The chargesheet in the Vijayawada liquor scam names eight accused before the Excise Court. The SIT listed roles in detail and named Addepalli Janardhan Rao as A1 and Jaganmohan Rao as A2. Officials say both set up fake liquor centres in Ibrahimpatnam.
The SIT also stated that Janardhan Rao and Jaganmohan Rao paid Rs 3-5 lakh to Jogi Ramesh and Jogi Ramu every two or three months. In some instances, Janardhan Rao handed over the cash personally to Jogi Ramesh, the probe noted.
Investigators said Jogi Ramesh and Janardhan Rao shared close ties from 2006 to 2019. Jogi Ramesh and Jogi Ramu owned Swarna Bar, later renamed Cherry's Bar in 2019. The document adds that both played key roles in the bar syndicate in Ibrahimpatnam.
