Prabhas could be heading for another year with two releases, and that brings back an interesting pattern from his career. With Fauzi postponed from its earlier release date and Spirit already locked for March 5, 2027, there is a possibility that both films could arrive next year.
However, Fauzi's new release date is yet to be announced.
Prabhas has seen this situation a few times before. He had two releases in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009, but in none of those years did both films perform on the same level. Varsham was a big success while Adavi Ramudu fell short in 2004. A year later, Chakram struggled as Chatrapathi went on to become a major hit. Yogi and Munna had a similar result in 2007, while Billa had the edge over Ek Niranjan in 2009.
Now, after a long gap, the possibility of another two-release year is back. Spirit and Fauzi are also very different films, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Hanu Raghavapudi bringing completely different styles to Prabhas.
Of course, there is no rule that history has to repeat itself. Prabhas is now operating on a much bigger scale, and both films carry huge expectations for different reasons. But if Fauzi does join Spirit in 2027, it will be interesting to see whether Prabhas can finally break this unusual sentiment and deliver two successful films in the same year.
