Natural Star Nani is known for believing in fresh talent and giving them freedom to explore and bring greatness to screen. On the special occasion of Nani's birthday, director Srikanth Odela penned a moving tribute to the actor who stood by him since his debut.
The filmmaker revealed that every time Nani says "Ni istam," it echoes as "I trust you," a sentiment that both scares and motivates him. Srikanth noted that despite him breaking Nani's typical cinematic rules and working styles, the actor only continued to build him up as a professional.
The note detailed the creative freedom Nani provides, from accepting radical look changes to enduring countless retakes without complaint. Srikanth mentioned that while he hasn't said it directly before, he is constantly chasing the reason behind Nani's immense faith in him. As they work on The Paradise, the director dedicated his efforts to the man who believed in him when no one else did, signing off as "Indebted for a lifetime" to his "Dharani" and "Jadal."
The director's letter emphasizes that Nani's belief in him is unparalleled, stating, "Nuv namminantha nannu evaru nammaledu anna" (No one believed in me as much as you did). By breaking every rule of Nani's "making of cinema," from working days to release patterns, Srikanth feels he has found a mentor who builds him up every time he is "broken."
He hopes that through their upcoming work on The Paradise, he will finally find the subconscious answer to why Nani continues to place such heavy trust in his vision. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the film and Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal and Sampoornesh Babu are playing prominent roles in this Sudhakar Cherukuri massive Pan-India production. Movie is scheduled for 21st August release worldwide.
