Many film makers in the Telugu film industry have not enjoyed long creative runs. Almost everyone has faced a point where ideas slow down, except for the rare case of Rajamouli.
There is talk on social media that senior director Koratala Siva might be nearing the end of his creative journey. Some feel he has reached a point where his work is no longer as strong as before.
After Acharya, Koratala Siva has not been the same. The film affected his image and the negativity on social media went far beyond normal criticism.
He returned with a moderately decent film like Devara. It offered some relief, but it did not help him fully regain his big league position or attract star heroes in the same way as earlier.
There is also a belief that Siva prefers working with stars instead of young heroes. But most stars already have packed schedules, which makes it harder for him to fit into their plans.
A few people think Siva might already be in a soft retirement phase. They believe that not much new work may come from him in the near future.
Siva has earlier said that he is not desperate to make many films. He prefers doing fewer films that give him complete satisfaction.
There could still be some creative energy left in him. Only time will tell if he chooses to explore it in the coming years.
