Nushrratt Bharuccha has been in news for her recent OTT release Chhorii 2. The horror mystery directed by Vishal Furia stars others like Soha Ali Khan, Saurabh Goyal and Hardika Sharma.
She appeared in an interview where she talked about her being replaced by Ananya Panday in Dream Girl 2. She said that all stars in the film were the same as Dream Girl which she was a part of, but she was the only one who was changed.

The Ayushman Khurrana starrer comedy was released in 2019 and its sequel later in 2023. In a regretful statement she said that "Deewar pe sar Marne se kya hoga? Apna sar tootega (There's no point in beating your head on the wall, you'll get hurt)".
This started discussions online in which netizens highlighted how talentless star kids snatch roles from outsiders. It is not easy for actresses like Nushrratt who don't have godfathers like Ananya, Jahnvi and Sara.
