The race for district presidents has intensified. A three-member committee toured 25 Parliamentary constituencies and is expected to submit its report to the party high command by the end of the day.
With four to five contenders in each district, competition is high.
The three-member committees, including a minister, senior MLA, and a local corporation chairman, have shortlisted hopefuls after gathering feedback from constituencies. Sources say Naidu will weigh caste equations before finalising names for district and Parliamentary constituency committees within a week.
Meanwhile, Lokesh is conducting his own survey to push fresh faces into the party ahead of the 2029 elections. Some corporation chairmen are also seeking district president posts, but the party leadership feels dual responsibilities will be a burden.
The final call on district presidents will be taken within a week. Priority will be given to those who worked for the party during the 2024 elections. For the state committee, youngsters and loyal workers will be given more preference, say party insiders.
