TG CM Gets Final Say In Rajya Sabha Nominations

Mirchi 9 1 month ago

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy got his way in the nomination of the two candidates for Rajya Sabha. Though many are talking about Revanth Reddy being black marked and probably being on his way out, the Congress High Command seems to have no issues with him.

This was evident from the choice of the second Rajya Sabha candidate suggested by Revanth Reddy. As is the norm in Congress, a list of 16 candidates was sent to the High Command. It had SCs, STs and BCs and other candidates. Revanth Reddy was clear he wanted Vem Narender Reddy nominated to Rajya Sabha.

Vem Narender Reddy is a close confidante of CM and played an active role during Jubilee Hills by elections, panchayat and ZPTC elections. Vem Narender Reddy is also said to be a people's man and coordinates between the party and the government.

Of course, the other candidate Abhishek Singhvi is pre-decided. There is no debate there. From the Congress side, there is no opposition for Vem Narender Reddy.

Now comes the question of BRS. Of the two Rajya Sabha seats, there could be a problem if BRS decides to field a candidate. Thursday is the last day for nominations. So far, BRS has refrained from announcing a candidate.

If today ends, then both the Rajya Sabha seats will be in ruling Congress party's kitty.
