Some stories carry strong human interest and this one has caught attention across Telugu states. An incident from the third phase of panchayat elections in Telangana is now drawing smiles and curiosity among voters and netizens alike.
The incident took place in Gundlarevu village of Julurupadu mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. What began as a routine local election soon turned entertaining due to the names involved in the contest.
In the panchayat elections, Bhukya Chandrababu and Banot Jagannatham alias Jagan faced each other. Both candidates contested with the backing of two different Congress groups, adding another layer to the local political scene.
Because of their names, the campaign itself became a talking point. When polling concluded on Wednesday, Bhukya Chandrababu emerged victorious over Banot Jagan, giving the result an unexpected symbolic twist.
The outcome quickly went viral online with people joking that Chandrababu defeated Jagan even in Telangana. Many shared memes and comments, enjoying the coincidence behind the result.
Some also linked it to the larger political picture. Revanth Reddy, the Congress leader once seen as a disciple of Chandrababu, recently defeated KCR of BRS, who is considered close to Jagan, making the comparison more amusing.
