Prabhas' upcoming film The Raja Saab has completed its censor process ahead of release, with the Central Board of Film Certification recommending only minor changes.

The film has been cleared with a U/A 16+ certificate after limited visual edits related to violence.

The horror comedy did not face objections for dialogue or romantic scenes. According to the censor report, these portions were allowed to remain unchanged. The board focused only on specific visuals involving gore.

One scene showing blood being washed off the floor was altered by converting it to black and white. This change was made to soften the visual impact. Another scene featuring a beheading was reduced by four seconds and shown through brief flashes.

Following these edits, The Raja Saab received certification on December 24, 2025. The censor certificate lists the runtime as 189 minutes. However, reports suggest the makers later trimmed the film to around 2 hours 55 minutes.

The film is set to release in theatres on January 9. It will clash at the box office with the Tamil film Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay Thalapathy, which is also reported to have a runtime close to three hours.

Written and directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab stars Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab alongside Prabhas. The film is produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment.

With the censor formalities complete, attention now turns to how audiences respond when the film arrives in cinemas.
