Andhra Pradesh secured a significant lifeline for its future in the form of the legislation of Amravati as the solitary capital of the state.
This was approved by the Parliament earlier, followed by the approval in the Rajya Sabha last afternoon.
Without a doubt, this is one of the biggest political and administrative developments regarding Andhra Pradesh and could play a significant role in its future.
But there is something strange that is being observed by social media folk on this matter, and this has something to do with the Telugu film industry.
People are pointing out that not a single big star associated with Telugu cinema has tweeted about Amaravati legislation, which is the biggest administrative event in the state in recent years. There has been nothing but deadly silence from Tollywood on this matter, despite the gravity of the same.
One particular social media user commented that Tollywood actors and producers have the time and efforts to ask for government backed Nandi awards and also actively approach the government for ticket price hikes. But when it comes to something celebratory regarding the future of the AP, there's no activism from Tollywood fraternity.
There is this one solitary message from Boyapati Srinu, who said Andhra Pradesh has found a permanent address with Amaravati and that's about it. But the rest of the cinema group hadn't taken the time or energy yet to socially express their goodwill on Amaravati.
This is a moment of peace and accomplishment to Andhra Pradesh and could have very well been celebrated by the film fraternity. But they have decided to stay oddly silent till now. We have to see if a wave of social posts would come up soon, as there's still time, or whether the film folk will completely avoid this matter altogether.
