Trailer Talk: Ruining Horror Comedy Cult Classic

The trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the highly anticipated third film in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise has finally been released on 9th October.

The trailer features the return of Kartik Aaryan as Rooh Baba, and Vidya Balan in her iconic role of 'Manjulika', along with other notable names such as Madhuri Dixit, Tripti Dimri and Rajpal Yadav.

It starts with the introduction of Vidya Balan's Manjulika, who is portrayed as a curse upon 'Raktghat'. It then shows Rooh Baba who seems to have gotten used to scamming people by using their fear of spirits. But things take a turn for the dark when he starts helping the 'king' get rid of Manjulika.

It also features Madhuri Dixit, whose character also claims to be Manjulika, leading to a war of words with Vidya Balan.

The trailer tries hard to mix comedy and horror, often going too overboard, leaving the people dissatisfied. People on social media platforms have criticized the trailer for its 'bland' comedic attempts and seemingly over-the-top horror.

Vamshi Paidipally: This Time Bollywood Bakra?

One user on X wrote, " Comedy looks bland. Horror looks over the top. Ye kya bana diya bhai", while another commented, "It just seems like a collection of gags & physical comedy, taking away from what made the OG special!"

The absence of Akshay Kumar and his energy is missed by the people. Although Kartik Aaryan feels decent, he doesn't come close to Akshay Kumar. Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan seem to go overboard with their acting, which makes the horror feel forced, while Tripti Dimri seems lost in most of the trailer.

No More Early Reviews: Masterstroke Or Blunder?

Although some dialogues do seem quirky and funny, they come nowhere near in filling the shoes of the first film.

While the reintroduction of classic characters like Vidya Balan and Rajpal Yadav has been appreciated by the people, only time will tell whether Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 lives up to its expectations, as it hits the theatres this Diwali!
